Answer» Recently I opened up my laptop (above) to install a new CD/DVD player unit. When I put the top and bottom cases back together I discovered a 4 WIRE ribbon cable that I could not find a receptacle for. This ribbon cable is for the mouse buttons on the palm pad (see attached photo). I NEED to know where this should terminate. I need to hook up a standard mouse to control my CURSOR! Any HELP will be appreciated.
TIA If you want to use a standard mouse, why can't you just plug one in?Calum,
Thanks for the prompt reply, however it dosen't help. Read my original post. I was asking where does the 4 wire ribbon cable suspossed to be attached/terminated. Without that cable being attached I have NO left or right click control. Right now I do have a standard mouse hooked up in order to have left and right click. That is not what I want. I am asking where should the ribbon cable terminate inside my computer.Oh, I see. I thought you meant you needed to hook up the cable in order to connect a mouse, I didn't see why this would be. In that case I'm not sure where it should terminate, unless you can see an empty slot. Sorry. Hopefully someone else can help you out, I'll keep watching this thread.Check the manuf. website...Thanks guys.
I found the connector. It was burried under the MODEM. Pulled the modem and there was the connector for the ribbon cable. It's re-installed and I have fully capability now!
That's good then, glad you got it sorted.
