Answer» My problem is that the amount of RAM I have on my laptop is 512, but sometimes when I start up my computer and go to Task Manager it says my laptop only has 195 of TOTAL Ram. So when this happens, I just restart my laptop and its total memory is back to 512 Ram. What is GOING on with my laptop? Why does the total memory change like that? Get one of those anti static wrist straps, and unplug your laptop and remove the battery. Open the ACCESS to the RAM, and remove the RAM sticks, clean the contacts and sockets(rubbing alcohol and lint free cloth or swab), and re-assemble. Reconnect the battery and AC and try again. If the RAM dropout persists, try again but put the sticks of RAM back in in a different order.the PROBLEMS still occurs after doing everything you said. I noticed it only happens when I leave my computer off for an extended period of TIME (like overnight) and then turn it on. Any other ideas you might have??? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
