Any help would be greatly appreciated, StuSo, you plug your mic into this "Altec Lansing USB device", right? Why do you use that device instead of your sound card or onboard sound connectors on back of your computer? Does your sound card or onboard sound have a jack for a mic? It does, but i cannot GET the on board to work, for sound or voice. Yes it has the right DRIVERS and the device manager says that it is working properly. And im using the USB instead of the a sound car because my old sound card BURN out, dont have the money to get a new one.
The USB worked fine for about 3 months and just recently started recording the wrong thing.Would a low cost card be an option? If so, I recommend this one: CHAINTECH AV-512 5.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card - Retail. I've been using one of these for about 2 years and have had no problems. I also use a mic with it.
