Answer» This is my friends wife's computer and I'm in the process of eliminating the MALWARE on it and to see if I can get it to run FASTER for her (I'll post the logs in the Malware section later tonight). Right now I'm trying to find out if I can add more memory (presently has (2) 256 Mb modules of DDR2). It's pretty old, I'm thinking early 200?. It's not a brand name PC, in a no-name ATX full tower case. Everest Home Edition list the Mboard as IBM 830542u but I can't seem to find the specs via Google. Thanks, Mike

Max 2 GB of DDR-266 RAM (FIRST generation), not DDR2 RAM.Thanks for the correction Transfusion! I ACTUALLY had DDR written on a piece of paper in front of my face when I typed this post. Does 'old, worn out, tired, not-too-smart, ADD(candidate), virtually senile, or just plain stupid' account for my posting inaccurate info? I've now been able to remove enough malware to get it to connect to the internet so I've posted malware logs in the Virus/Malware section to get further assistance from you guru's on here. On your cue, I purchased/installed a PNY 1Gb DDR PC3200 module for it today and it's much faster ($49.99 at Staples). Gee, they are proud of that old RAM, but she needs this computer pronto - so no time for mail order. Thanks again, Mike
