Answer» Hi everyone. I wonder if there is a way to turn of my laptop monitor while watching the television when it is connected to the computer? I am using an Acer ASPIRE 5517 with Windows 7. Thanks. That should be one of the Fn keys thing. Is there a key with the LETTERS Fn on it? Lock for a mate for it that turns off the LCD.In windows 7 there is a very simple way to do this function and it will GIVE you MULTIPLE choices for how the video will be displayed. It is the "windows" key and the "P' key on your keyboard. With your laptop turned on and a cable connection between the computer and the CHOSEN (available) input port on the TV (or 2nd monitor) depress the 2 keys mentioned. The choices available will be presented on your laptop screen. Here is an article i found for you that explains how to do it plus what options are available. For audio transfer you will need a cable to connect from the audio output of the laptop to the audio input of the tv. I use it often. truenorth http://blogs.win7deployment.com/clintongarbutt/2009/07/windows-key-p-presentation-mode/Thanks for the advice, it works.
