Answer» I ordered http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122 thinking it would be COMPATIBLE with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130252 . The RAM does not fit. Is this because it is DDR2? DDR3 ONLY. Or, get yourself a DDR2 motherboard, like the rest of us and enjoy cheaper prices and just as good performance. AND it WILL cost LESS.EDO/FPP RAM cost less than SDRAM when SDRAM was introduced. I don't even think you can either one now. SDRAM cost less than DDR when DDR was introduced. It costs more now. DDR cost less than DDR2 when DDR2 was introduced. It costs more now. DDR3 costs less then DDR2 does now. There is a clear pattern here. DDR2 is cheaper then DDR3 now, but soon that will no longer be the case. Also, saying DDR3 has "just as good performance" as DDR2 is evidently flawed. The question is wether the speed difference is worth the price difference, at the moment, it depends.Ugh, guess your right AGAIN. But a repeating pattern doesn't mean that it will happen yet again. Just like with HDDVD and Bluray, it seemed as if HDDVD was the better solution, and cheaper and would stay that way, but it died out. (not really sure where I'm going with this). But, DDR3 may not be as widely ADAPTED as thought to... I KNOW DDR3 has higher clock speeds, but yet again, from what I see at my local computer stores, the fastest DDR2, costs less than the slowest DDR3. Idk. That might be only here, and not online. I still believe though, that a DDR2 motherboard would be worth it, for now. You can always resell for 80-90% of the price, when DDR3 goes cheaper.You have got a fairly good motherboard, and I'd stick to it and add RAM as your budget allows. |
