1.	Solve : Ubuntu and an Ess modem for dial up??
Answer» I have a desktop running VISTA on one drive and Ubuntu 8.04.1 on another drive. Is this copy of Ununtu designed to find a modem when it opens? My modem is an ess es56h-p-1. I have gone through the routine of running scanmodem and still can't get ubuntu to recognize this modem. Tell me if I'm wrong in THINKING: 1. I am thinking of trying another modem...what kind should I BUY? 2.Does anyone use dial up...what kind of modem do you use? Any suggestions appreciated.Have you visited the Ubuntu Forum to SEE if anyone else is running this modem successfully ? ?
