Solve : unable to transfer files to D: drive?

Answer»

I have a 7 year old Gateway that runs Windows 98. I recently bought a new Dell and I want to save digital pictures onto a CD-R so they may be viewed on the new computer. They are currently saved on zip discs. When I try to access the D: drive the error comes up " D:\ is not accessible. The device is not ready. " Options are to RETRY or cancel. This occurs when I have a disc in the drive or even if I click on the drive in the My Computer SCREEN. I updated the driver and it said it had the most recent one. Is it a problem with the drive or the process I am going through to access the drive? Nothing comes up when I put the discs in the drive. Thanks! The reason why it says it is not acessible is because the CD is blank. When it is blank the computer does not know what to do with it. That is why you use a program to burn the pictures to the CD. What program are you curently using to burn the projects?

It could be under the options if you burn CD LIKE music. You should see a burn picture options. Is your CD drive a CD-RW? Not any regular drives can be CD-RW. CD-RW was expensive back in the TIME. but if you have one back then then I envy you.
