Solve : Underperforming Video Cards?

Answer»

Hi. This past week I decided to upgrade my video card mainly for playing World of Warcraft. So I bought the ATI Radeon 4850 and upgraded my power supply at the same time with a 650 watt. So after installing and getting the latest drivers I was less then impressed with the cards performance. So I then decided to return it and buy a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT. And once again after installing and updating to the latest drivers the card did not PERFORM nearly to the level that it should have. Even with the video options being turned down the game had low fps and was down right choppy in some areas. I'm not sure what my problem is and any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is my system information when I still had my original GeForce 8500 GT cards installed

And if ANYONE can explain why my buddy's system listed below runs WoW so much better then mine when I had two different video cards installed that were suppose to be more powerful then his.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me out with this. mabye wow doesnt like the version of drivers or something. shoulda kept the 4850I would have been HAPPY to keep the 4850 but it just did not do the job for some reason. sorry sorry. I misread it.  I though you said you where impressed with it.  I am very tiredChances are that it isn't related to drivers... or the video card.. at all.

could be to many other programs running.WOW is an online game, are you sure that you are getting a good connection with the games servers. LAG (which affects frame rate) will be higher if the server you are connecting to is the other side of the world, and no amount of graphics processing power will solve that.
