Solve : unknown g: drive?

Answer»

Not too sure what happened here but one day i noticed i had a G:drive when i looked in my computer. It doesn't do anything and isn't part of anything ALSO. Anyone have any ideas how it got there and how i can remove it.

Thanksis there a program called dameon on your computer that u use or someone else uses.

cause that program creats some drives. if u do u can unmount them.

if not and the drive doesnt do anything when clicking on it i dont THINK it should be a big problem leaving it there. im not sure though we'll have to see what OTHERS think about itRight click it and select properties...what does it say ? ?

A USB thumb drive perhaps ? ?

The StarWindService.exe entry in your task manager CREATES a virtual CD/DVD drive where you can mount CD images.

You can disable it in alcohol120% by going to File -> Options -> Virtual Drives -> Set virtual drives to 0

I would recommend that you do if you never make use of images. If you don't know what an image is, you most likely do not make use of said technology.thanks for the help. I do use alcohol 120 for ISO burning so i'll just leave that drive there.Quote

You can mount the ISO's there if you like, virtual drives allow for much faster installation.
