Answer» I have SEEN this on a couple pages and it really got me wondering. 'Be sure to unplug the computer and when you have removed the cover, touch the metal frame to ground yourself'. So here's the problem: If the computer is unplugged, how can touching the frame ground you? It's not connected to anything that is grounded. And YES, I have a whole COLLECTION of Nits I have picked up on the way. Isn't it cause the metal frame absorbs the static and such from your body? Not too sure... I don't do it, anyhow, lol... Might explain why my computer keeps dying and I keep electricuting my fingers (I'm jk, btw, lol)jim_me2......Your comment about grounding yourself after the plug is PULLED is quite correct ..........Alway discharge any static buildup in your body .......BEFORE pulling the plug ....unless of course you have a proper ground strap , in which case it DOESNT matter .
