Answer» Hi Guys, First of all, I hope I have put this QUESTION in the CORRECT forum. I am thinking of upgrading my Processor Intel i3 to i5. But I do not know whether or not my PRESENT Motherboard will take the upgrade.
This is the MB I am using. Board: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. H81M-P PLUS Rev X.0x Serial Number: 160573292900740 Bus Clock: 100 megahertz UEFI: American Megatrends Inc. 0501 04/29/2016
My ram is fine and so is my HDs. I am using Nvidia Gforce 1030 Graphics. Let me know if I have given you enough information. I would appreciate any advice you can offer.
All the very best.
LuckyjflTo be honest the motherboard you're using is quite old and it has Intel's LGA 1150 chipset. This means the motherboard will support Intel's 4th generation I-series processors.
Currently, Intel sells its 11th generation I-series processor, thus even if you upgrade to an i5 processor, it won't be much of an upgrade.
My suggestion would be to stretch this system till it works and in the meantime save money to completely upgrade your system.
Hope this helps! Thanks for getting back to me, Nickthomson1103. I really appreciate it. I think I will do like you suggested. All the best. Stay safe.
