I'm upgrading ram in an OLDER LAPTOP. Ddr266, pc2100, 2.5v, 32x8. What's in there now is 256mb with "2" latency. All I can find has "2.5" latency. So will going from 2 to 2.5 latency WORK?
THANKS.Yeah it should do as long as BIOS supports it and the RIGHT type for the Lappy.I wonder how I can tell what bios supports?--doesn't show in bios setup anywhere. I suppose I'll just get the new ram and see what happens. Thanks Tim.No no, don't do that, you may get a saleman who may try to take you for a ride. It will be there somewhere, but the easiest way would be to download this and see what it tells you. If you have Ram that is considered legacy as it were, may not work but try it. Rather you try that than paying even 10pence for something that may not work.
