Quick and simple...

Possible? Not likely.

Worth it? No.

Reward yourself and get a NEW laptop Yes, you can upgrade a few things. But it is better to take that money and put it into a new laptop instead of upgrading the old machine.Quote from: mcxeb52! on April 24, 2008, 02:19:40 PM
Yes, you can upgrade a few things. But it is better to take that money and put it into a new laptop instead of upgrading the old machine.

Aside from used parts which probably won't last, it's not likely that anything compatible with a system that old could be found. The processor is probably soldered onto the board, the RAM a system that old would use is most likely no longer available (new anyway), ditto for the hard drive, and the video chipset is also probably integrated, which means it can't be upgraded either.

Like I SAID, not likely.
Thank you.My dad always told me, if you've got to upgrade more than three things on a laptop, just scrap it and get a new one.

Don't buy a Compaq. Mine is three years old and has multiple problems. Not to mention the battery life was always horrible and the battery is now reduced to being a paperweight, and my power cord is constantly falling out if it's moved in the least...so my three-year-old laptop is now a desktop. Give me a couple months to earn the money and it's going to be scrap!
