Solve : USB and IEEE 1394?

hello all!

From theoretically,maximum number of USB device that can connect to PC is 127 in daisy chain, but why for IEEE 1394 the maximum number is just 63?

May I know why?

thanks! firewire essentially CREATES a network- USB is a host-based connection system.

As an example, with the proper firewire peripherals, you could, if necessary, have a CAMCORDER download data directly to a HD connected via Firewire, whereas USB would need to pass through the computer (the host) before being stored on the HD, taking up processor time.
