Answer» I just got one of those combo binocular/digital cameras. I installed the driver (it TOLD me I needed to cause I'm running 98SE) and the software for the PHOTO manager, but it will not download photos from the camera. So a couple of questions: 1. Do USB ports have to be "turned on" somehow and if so, how do I do that? 2. If I'm running the wrong-rated port, how do I find that out and how do I switch it to the correct one? 3. What else can I try? 4. It wouldn't be something as STUPID as a bad cable, would it?

NigelTommy Bruner....Several qestions........The first is did you follow the installation instructions to the letter ? Does your pc have USB1.1 or 2 .0 ? What type of connection is your camera looking for USB1.1 or USB 2 ? Could be a COMPATIBILITY problem ......

dl65 sorry to tag on here but i am in a perhaps similar position i have a epson cx3200 printer attached to a usb port and it works fine.. i will be buying a xd card reader for a new digi cam and see there are usb 1.1 and 2.0 models available. which should i buy..? my device manager for XP doesnt say 'enhanced' or anything and although i bought the pc in sept 2002 i see the device drivers were for 07/2001 i have read a bit on this site's help page and now assume i may be usb 1.1... if i buy a card reader for 2.0 will it still run..and i will be upgrading to a new pc in a bit. the camera spec says 2.0 port for connection.. i am just a bit confused as well.. thanks in advance for any help. yours mrcrow manchester england
