Solve : USB device not recognised.?

Answer»

I have a USB2 external hd (2.5"). I use it with no problems with my two laptops and a desktop. However, when i CONNECT it via USB2 to another desktop Windows tells me it is connected, then tells me that the DEVICE has failed. When i check the USB properties in Device Manager, it tells me that the USB device is unrecognised, but all the other USB devices are working fine. All laptops/ PCs are RUNNING Above 2Ghz with 512MB ram and XP Pro. I have reinstalled XP, installed all motherboard drivers and still dont get my device recognised, even when supplying extra power to the USB HD. Any thoughts?Find the latest updates for your mainboard from the manufacturers website or contact technical support.
