Flash memory is built out of cells. Each cell may have charge of "0" (written), or "1" (empty). Your flash card may look LIKE this: 11110001111 where "000" is your file. When you delete a file, you simply change three cells charge from "000" to "111". Now, your flash card look like this: 11111111111 As I said, this is just simply speaking.If you have no Recycle Bin on your flash drive, then I believe any FILES deleted are permanently deleted. AFAIK, flash drives can have their own Recycle Bin, same as HARD drives. My PNY flash drive has no Recycle Bin when I open it on my Win XP computer. And, I don't know how to add a Recycle Bin to it. I'll try to make it simple.

11110001111
where "000" is your file.
