Answer» I recently got a new case with a power supply of 420 w instead of 250. It was working fine for a DAY until today the USB laser mouse STOPED working. I tried numerous different mouses and they didnt work. WHen i put the mouse in an error message comes up that says USB device not recognized. I installed my USB drivers but it still doesnt work. What can i do to fix this or what do u think the problem is? thanks very much alexWhat VERSION of Windows?Alex:
Do you GET the message before or after you see the starting windows splash screen?
Try unplugging the mouse, waiting a few seconds, then plugging it back in.
Try checking the BIOS settings to see that the USB ports are still enabled. There may even be a page in the BIOS setup to choose whether the system uses a PS/2 or a USB mouse.
Blessings to you, Doci am using Windows XP. If the mouse is pluged in nothing works and no error mesages come up. but when im at the main screen and i plug it in then the meesage comes up.Get a usb->ps2 adaptor. Why would you want to plug into a usb port when there is a ps2 port that was designed for a mouse?

Try a system restore and if this doesnt work like FED said just put it in the ps2.
