Solve : USB Port Problem? |
|
Answer» I have a big problem with my Insignia D400 PC. I was trying to install a new graphics card, because the on-board graphics viewer was going bad. I called the manufacturer of the graphics card to get some help, and a well-meaning help desk rep. told me to update the bios to my motherboard. I followed his instructions and downloaded a bios update form Intel's website for my Intel motherboard. Unfortunately, none of my USB ports work now. I downloaded the Microsoft Service Pack I to my computer, rebooted, but still the USB ports were unresponsive. I went to the Device Manager on my Computer to SEARCH for updates to the Universal Serial Bus Controllers, but they are nowhere listed in the device manager, even after downloading the Service Pack I. I also TRIED to reformat my computer to the original factory settings, but the USB ports will still not respond. I then went to safe mode and went into the USB section of safe mode, but it is empty. When I say empty, I mean that there are no drivers or settings listed. It's as if the USB drivers were wiped off of the computer, and now the update motherboard bios are PREVENTING me from downloading the USB drivers again, because the new bios are not compatible with the original USB drivers. Grrrrr... This is very frustrating. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me fix this problem without spending money on a new motherboard?
