So I have a custom built model, built it myself QUITE a while ago, back when the first quad cores were on the market(i have a q6600), anyways I have been busy with SCHOOL and work(for which I use my laptop) and haven't noticed until now that none of my usb ports are working correctly. I have four usb's directly on the motherboard, and two in the front that came with my case none will read any devices and will only charge my girlfriends iphone and my bros ipod touch and it doesn't EVEN register that anything is connected to the computer.

It is quite annoying..

any help would be much appreciatedOne thing you can try is expand all instances of USB roots and hubs in Device Manager...
Right clik each one and uninstall them...
You will recieve a warning message...ignore it.
Upon re-boot they will be AUTOMATICALLY re-installed...no dice, tried it twice..
like my usb stick is getting power, I can see that the light on it is on, but it doesn't register on my computerDoes it show up in Disk Management ? ?
If so right clik it and SELECT Properties...

Does it work on other machines >? ?well its not just that, nothing works, nothing shows up when I plug anything in, but they are outputting power because I can charge my girlfriends iphone, but even when I plug that in it doesn't show up or tell me that I have connected a device
