Answer» Hey! When I PLUG in a USB into my monitor (it has side USB ports), my computer IMMEDIATELY restarts. Following the restart, I can OPEN up the USB drive, but the My Computer window then closes while I am viewing the contents. At first I thought it was a powersupply problem, so I bought a brand-new one with more wattage and still have the same problem. What do you guys think? Thanks!compguy, Does this mysterious restart occur when you use a USB port on your PC (not the monitor)? If not, then your monitor/USB circuit or control logic is bad. How long is the USB cable? If the problem happens with both PC or monitor USB ports, your drive could be the problem. Again assuming your cable isn't too long. The cable itself could be bad or intermittent. Also, just out of curiosity, does your monitor provide power to your PC (control PC on/off function)? Dell
