Solve : USB stopped working? |
|
Answer» I have a Toshiba Satellite notebook running Windows Vista Home Basic. For some reason a few weeks ago 2 out of my 4 USB port just stopped working. I tried to reinstall the drivers but as soon as I would delete them they would reinstall almost instantly. I also tried running the restore disk and that didn't help the problem either. Is there anything I can do without taking it to a shop? (can't afford to take it in right now) I suggest you do as sometimes recommended by CH forum senior member, patio. He says to open Device Manager and uinstall all USB items and then restart your computer and let Windows reinstall USB drivers. I tried that but the drivers re-installed themselves almost instantly, I didn't have a CHANCE to reboot. What exactly did you do with the restore disk? Did you format the hard drive and reinstall your OS? Quote from: soybean on May 23, 2007, 09:41:16 AM What exactly did you do with the restore disk?
