Solve : Using IDE HD with SATA HD problems?

Answer»

I am having some problem using my IDE HD with my SATA HD. The IDE comes up in hardware manager but I have no access to it in my computer on anywhere else for that matter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ThanksThe IDE comes up in hardware manager -- that's good. Does it show up in My Computer? When you first boot the computer, are you able to access the BIOS, and do both the drives show up. (They should, if Windows at least sees them.)

The IDE and SATA operate on different physical architectures. (I'm assuming you're booting from the SATA drive.)

IF you see it in My Computer, what happens when you left click on the icon? What happens if you right-click on the icon?I actually does not show up in My Computer at all, but it does show up when I boot up and I can access the BIOS. Yes I am booting from the SATAWhat OS ?
If Win2K or later right click My Computer and select Manage then Disk Management.
Report back with the details of how it is LISTED there.
You can right click the drive there and select properties for more info.

Did this HDD have Windows installed on it ? ?I am running Win XP SP2
I checked and it says it is unallocated.
The HDD did have windows on it but I used killdisk to clean it
I enabled it and now I have STARTED to PARTITION it as drive D (dvd rom is drive E) and now it shows up in my computer. Formatting is taking place now but everything seems FINE now. Thanks a ton
