Solve : Vertical color line on screen (laptop)?

Answer»

Hello All

I was just wondering if you can tell me how to fix or get rid of the VERTICAL color lines on my laptop screen. The laptop is about 3 years old but still has a LOT of life left in it.

Would anyone be able to tell what the lines are caused by and how to fix or does this need to be fixed by the manuf. Toshiba is the brand.

Thanks in advance

KevinLines are usually caused when the ribbon cable to the LCD is damaged, display is cracked, or chip is partially blown for the pixel array. Its best to have a computer shop or the OEM repair this. * It can be costly however, so if this laptop is used more like a workstation ( aka desktop computer ) I generally tell PEOPLE to plug in an external display into its auxilary VGA output. Most use the opportunity to save $$$ and upgrade from their 14" display to a nice 19" or larger for less than $200I had that problem exsept my little bro poured lemon juice over the laptop it did that for about a day then it stoped WORKING compleatly and the external vga PORT was broken that got sent away to be repaird.
