Answer» I am currently renovating an old PC to use for motion detection in my garden with old web cams that I pick up from BOOT sales, the PC previously ran OK it is just a cast off from a friend . the board is a k7-m810xp ATHLON about 10 years old . I dismantled it for cleaning purposes and now put it BACK together . the HDD was only one gigabyte so I replaced it with a thirty gig ,again from a boot sale . my problem is the first time I booted it up after reconstruction it checked through and displayed its findings on screen then cut out . now it runs on boot up but there is no VGA on the monitor , TRIED replacing the cable but no joy . the HDD is OK I checked it in a dock . any IDEAS ?Please provide more detail (the extent) of this " I dismantled it for cleaning purposes" .truenorth
