Solve : VHS to DVD? |
|
Answer» I have a bunch of VCR tapes and would like to copy them to DVD. I picked up a Roxio easy VHS to DVD. I copied three movies and they didn't copy the sound. Any ONE know any thing about this stuff? It is all hooked up the way they said to hook it up. USB to the computer and the colored connectors to the same color on the out of the VCR. Then do what your told. The moves look good they just don't have any sound. Thank you much for your time.I also have one of these devices that I used to convert Sony Hi8 aka Super 8 to Digital format. Mine is called EasyCAP. Or lack thereof. With great effort, I managed to track down the Vista version of the driver, which worked passably on Windows 7. If you then track down some windows 7 compatible third-party software (currently using Media Player Classic to watch live, Debut VIDEO capture to record), you can view and record footage. Mind you, it s not very good footage. And the brightness/contrast is off, so colors bleed and are faded. What OS are you using? And what is the exact model # of this device such as Roxio NP-640 etc?I can't find a number on the box. It is called,( easy roxio VHS to DVD ). I have gotten a hold of support and they are saying that they are WORKING on it. As of yet no help. Every thing works but I have no sound. The thing came with a DVD that has all the stuff on it that makes it work. I loaded it. Like I said it works yet no sound. I am using Windows XP. Thank you much for your time.As you are just embarking on this project i SHALL give you some of my impressions from having done hundreds of them. Firstly i am NOT happy with the picture quality particularly if you use a compression format so as to get more than one vhs movie on the disc. I found the more (up to 4) you put on a disc the worse they all are. Whatever you do do NOT put paper labels on the disc. I bought 2 different brands of direct vhs to dvd player/recorders once i found i was not satisfied with the computer based process and was still not impressed with the picture quality. I gave up on doing it.truenorthInteresting discussion. I have been using a product called DAZZLE since late 2007/early 2008 to convert our 'home videos' to DVD. It is a small device which plugs into your VHS recorder/player and to your computer via USB. Follow the setup and run instructions and it works ... AS THEY SAY IN THE MARINES "WORKS FINE, LASTS A LONG TIME, DON'T RUST!" Semper Fi ... & regardsDazzle is what I had first. It would copy to the hard drive but then you had to down load to a DVD from the hard drive. That would take twice as long. I have like 200 VHS tapes to copy to 200 DVDs. Still no word from support. I think I am going to take it back and try and get the MACHINE that will do. I was told that they make a machine that will do it. I have not found one yet. Any one here know of one or where to buy it?Btw, I have tons of VHS tapes so what should I do? I hate that VCRs are becoming extinct I do have tons of VHS tapes like said. Wouldnt it take a lot of money to transfer them to DVD because you have to buy the DVDs. I do think there are a few VCRs with a DVD player with them. |
