Answer» Hey there everyone, new to the forums, and couldn't find a similar question to this. Anyway, in a lot of games I PLAY, I get these big black lines and "pillars" across my screen that flicker wildly and go all over the place. Needless to say, they're very annoying. I've tried CONTACTING Albatron (the maker of my card) with no response. I have the latest drivers for the card. Nearly all 3D games I play shows these things. I thought it was an overheat problem but the temp was at about 55 degrees C (which as far as I know is an good temp) and it was still happening. Any idea what the cause is, or better yet how to fix it? My PC is as follows: Gigabyte Pro-SLI mobo athlon 64 3500+ albatron geforce 7800 gt 256 mb (pci-e) 1 gig ram Do you get these flickers in the BIOS? On the basic Windows desktop? Or just when gaming?Just gaming.Bad card or heat. As it just happens when gaming, that is when things really heat up, and point the finger at it. Has it always been this way? What kind of cooling is installed on it? funny, I had heard of em, Albatron 7900GT Geforce 7900GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail BUT: the manufacturers website doesn't even show they made a 7800 gt ? 7300 gs, yes oh wellThe 7800 series is discontinued due to the release of the 7600 and 7900 cards, so not many places sell them anymore. However, it is still quite powerful. And for some reason mine is not working good... I would hate to get a new one with DX10 cards coming out very soon... And for GX1 My card is located near the bottom of my PC, with the fan facing down. There's NOTHING directly underneath the fan, so it has room to take in air. The rest of case I think has a good airflow, as I have 2 FANS (plus one of those PSUs with a big fan on the bottom of it) so it should be taking in cool air.

Too vague for me.I have never heard of Albatron, but it sounds like your card is overheating. What kind of cooling is installed on it?Quote
