Answer» I had posted about this before, but I cannot find it using search. Again, this is my computer. Every once in awhile, my monitor will GO crazy. Lines and dots appear everywhere and the screen shut off and on and then they are gone. Then eventually it will happen again. Any ideas? Install better cooling solution or increase the efficiency of the one currently installed.Reformatted the computer. Windows XP. Installed startup drivers for card. Issue still occuring. VERY ANNOYING!!! Maybe problem does not lie with the video card, but with the motherboard/processor. Temperature problems perhaps. Problem only occurs after starting a 3D accelerated game. From there, after exiting the game, the issue MIGRATES to the desktop and does not go away. Even after shutting the computer down, the computer magically a few seconds later starts up again by itself, even when I haven't pushed the power button. If this is a temperature issue, can someone please RECOMMEND me a good cooling system. My room does get pretty hot in the summer since my room faces west and gets most of the heat from noon to 8pm. Air CONDITION is no help as it does not come out strong enough from the vents. My blinds are old and don't close right anymore. I have removed the side panel of my tower to provide better air flow out of the case. The fan that was attached to it went, so having the side on was useless. If a fan is not operating for a piece of hardware such as the CPU or videocard, it might be a good idea to have it fixed...(You would want it to be fixed, trust me... A lot of people have overheating problems)
