Solve : Video software?

Answer»

I have a few dell computers, Optiplex GX 270's that were donated from a local college for our non-profit. Everything was deleted prior to receiving them. When trying to load an operating system, I have nothing showing on my monitor. Computer is booting up but nothing on screen. The video is ATTACHED to the motherboard. I tried using a video card I have but still get no screen to START loading an operating system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any beeps you heard upon turning on the computer?

Is there any error messages displayed on screen?

Can you post your full computer specs?

Also, can you confirm the monitor is WORKING?Thanks for the response. Monitor is working. No problem there. I don't know if there are any error messages because the screen is blank. Power light blinks yellow. When I HOOK up monitor to other computers the power light goes to green and you can hear monitor engage. I have several computers with the same problem after the hard drives were wiped. They are all the same type of computers. Should I buy a new video card and try that? Maybe if that works I COULD download the drivers for the onboard video card and follow the same line for the other computers.

Steve297Here is what I'm thinking.

If you have a bunch of new old computers and none of them work with that monitor, then I would assume there is a problem with the monitor, like it's not plugged in properly or something.

Exactly how old are these computers? If they have floppy drives DLoad and create a WinMe bootdisk from bootdisk.com.
Power up each machine with the monitor hooked up and the floppy in...
This will at least give you a POST screen and some graphics so you will know if it's the monitor or not.
