Solve : Water In Flatscreen?

Answer» I use my PC directly under the Air Conditioner, with the Flatscreen on the table. RECENTLY the air conditioner had a problem and it began leaking out water. Unfortunately quite an amount fell into the Flatscreen and it is forming lines, colour distortions and black spots on the monitor. This is definitely an ahrdware problem and it is my FIRST time encountering. Can i please get some EXPERT isea on what to do. I would DEARLY appreciate so.Turn it off, let it dry and see if you got lucky. My flatscreen experience is limited to only a few months, so I could be wrong, but I'm gonna say you'll probably need a new monitor. Unless you want to try having it repaired. And for future reference, keep all hardware away from anything with water, even if you think it's securely contained.

I think so too. I saw the other day a guy had used Windex to clean his flat screen TV

Liquids creep up between the layers by capillary action, and then they are there for ever.

I use a 'micro-fiber' rag and a special spray to clean my LCD monitors. Ouch, that's gotta suck. And I'm guessing this sort of thing probably isn't covered by warranties.Quote from: Raptor on April 19, 2007, 05:58:13 AM

Agreed ...place it in a cool dry spot with a small fan creating AIRFLOW around the unit and give it at least 24 hours before hooking it up again.
As Raptor said, you may get lucky...
