Solve : Water on my monitor? |
|
Answer» I was watering one of plants and may got some water in the back of my monitor. It made a horrible noise, because it was still plugged in. Now the screen is flickering. Did I just murder my monitor? Is there anything I can do to dry it out? Leave it a for a couple of days in a warm place without turning it on. Try it again and if you are lucky it is a temporary "short circuit" caused by the water on it and cured by drying out. That's what I would do. I DONT think that it will work after some days becasue water make short circuiting in eletronics and short circuting may cause some components in ur monitor DAMAGED. Secondly, you know there is picture tube in the monitor. It is QUITE hot during operating times. And when cold water strikes the hot SURFACE especially on glass, it will cause that glass to blast. So I also think that ur picture tube has also damaged. My suggestion is that you must arrange a qualified electrician to ckeck it since turning ur monitor ON after some days may result in personel injury. Bye... Dur-E-WahabKathryn Smith.......you didn't say how much water got in ...but .......just follow the suggestion of letting it dry out and HOPEFULLY it will be ok ....If you know some one who is capable of opening it up ...it might be an idea to open it and MOP up any water that has pooled ........and then let it sit ......... Perhaps you will get lucky dl65 |
