Answer» I just bought a new WEBCAM, it's a Philips portable one. I'm running my laptop on Vista.
For some reason, my cam doesn't work on any programs I try. I've tried skype, msn, AIM, even stickam. It doesn't show up, just a black screen, anywhere but the actual webcam's program. It doesn't even recognize that I have it plugged in. I installed all the software, but it still doesn't work.
Why? and how can I fix it?Have you tried it on another PC to know that the cam is working correctly? This way you know its the PC or the Camera?
DaveThe cam is working right because when I pull up the program it came with it has a preview screen and everything shows up fine on it. Just not on any other programs.sounds like you need a codec for it to work with other appsWhich Philips MODEL is this?
Did you install the drivers before you plugged the cam in or after?
