Solve : website back door??

Answer»

I was wondering if there is a BACK door view to a website...
Can you view like a skeleton version of a site somehow..
say someone has .html PAGES or .jpgs that aren't viewable to the GENERAL public and aren't published on the site itself but they are uploaded and hosted at that address...

is there a way to do this?Yes , there is.

Are you refering to the root directory of the website ?
If you are, you would have to know the username and password to gain access.

dl65  You can grab orphan files, pictures, etc with software like Web Site Downloader ... I use this software to create archives of entire websites of interest, and ones that are important for useful content and hosted by UNRELIABLE servers that can drop off the face of the inet.

You will then have to poke through what it grabbed to see if you can find the "Waldo" Orphan Files...

If there are any orphan files, it will grab them... It cant grab server side data though from databases etc, only raw data. It then has the smarts of recoding the site, so that all links that can be referenced locally are recoded to point to local directory on your hard drive or Burned CD. Databases and other data that can not be extracted are left in correct link form, so the website will REFERENCE to the original website for this data.

This software was money well spent...No bugs and very powerful tool for archiving tech pages that come and go into my "Personal Use" Tech Info Collective....
