Solve : weird clicking?

Answer»

whenever i double click to start a PROGRAM, like IE, it starts CLICKING like million times, then i have to close group. i tried formatting computer and it stills does this sometimes.Download the software from your hard drive manufacturer
and run a fitness test.

http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287This is def HDD problm..If you can nav to Device Manager and ck your HDD under the "IDE ATA/ATAPI CONTROLLERS" use Properties dialogue box to run a performance test make sure your HDD Sustains it's speed..If you do not have the HDD disc chk progrm there, then def dwnload from Manufacturer..If you happen to get those same clicks on boot, you might want to make sure to run an up2date back-upHe may mean a bunch of windows open up instead of a clicking sound ...
In that case it could be a stuck key on the keyboard.
slayer can you be more specific ? ?Where is there a performance test in Device Manager ? ?Im using a computer I built w an AMD64 3200+ (cheap but effective) with an ECS board w Nvidia chipset N&S, The HDD controller (I believe loaded by the Mboard disk) under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" in Device Manager/IDE ATA controllers/Prop/Primary Channel. Has a tester for the HDD that will speed test and give results for "Sustained Speed-Burst Speed-Theatrical Speed..The HDD is WD SATA1.5Mb/s Quote from: litespeed14 on November 09, 2007, 05:30:17 AM
