Answer» HI: I will be moving into a new apartment complex next week and they have "Wi-Fi" access...My computer is not currently set up for this...What gadget do I need to add to my desktop computer in ORDER to access into the Wi-Fi network? With my laptop, I have a wireless card, but there is no card slot on the desktop for the card...Thanks a lot, Steve in KansasFor your desktop, you can purchase either a USB wireless adapter or a PCI wireless card The PCI one will be inside your computer and the USB one will stick out of a USB port PCI is generally cheaper and neater but harder to fit Hope this helpsI would suggest a PCI wireless card: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=how+to+install+pci+wireless+card The apartment will have INFO on how to connect to the network. |
