Hey, Im am planning to build a new computer fairly soon as soon i get the cash flow up. I know that most of u probably think Im computer illiterate because of my other posts hahaha. But Im gonna give it a go because thats how u learn and computers really do it for me, I love them and I dont want to waste money on someone else building it for me and me not learning anything about the workings of my system. I dont know much about decent gpu's is or cpu's or anything so I really do need some help. Because this is my first attempt from scratch.

Ok so far im gonna be running the same OS which is XP Pro SP2 coz Im not really a Vista fan.

Basically speaking its got stacks of ROOM EG/ Five 3.5 HD spaces and Four 5.25 spaces and good vent.


What I want to do is buy from this store because Its just down the road and genuinely cheap ( I got my new HD from there ).

Ok so what I need to figure out apart from the Case and HARD Drive is the rest and this is where u come in.
What I want from my computer is one thing but price is another. Im not rich atm and would like to buy everything from that store if so... If u have an idea of what hardware I would need, find it on the site and then could u please tell me? If u cant find it there can u please just give me the make and model and any other info that might help and I could probably order it in from the store. I dont want anything too flash, I just want the right hardware to do the job right and well enough so I dont have troubles for a while.

What I would like from my comp - I would like to hook up 5.1 surround sound.
At least 6 USB Ports. An option might be to get 4 and then a small hub?
I would like to view movies with ease...that means no jumpy crap happening in full screen mode and I will be happy.... A nice CARD to probably go with an LG L1917SSN 19 inch LCD Monitor http://www.i-love-pc.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductNO=659 Hoping to stick with Nvidia tho if that helps...
As far as RAM goes I would like to upgrade to DDR2 but have no idea how to do that. And would like at least a gig. And also my HD is IDE so I think I should maybe go SATA. Would that be a good idea for the future? Coz I can always palm off my IDE Hard drive to dad or my sister, It only cost me $60 bucks New for 160GB anyway lol.
Baically I want to listen to top quality music. I also wouldnt mind recording voice tags and stuff through the mic on a regular basis to mix musically. Is it possible to get more than ONE Mic port? Coz I would really love to record with more than one mic at a time... For example one for guitar and the other for voice. If u cant its all good im just exploring options.
CPU? - Not sure on this one. Maybe if someone could take a stab from what I want from my comp?
Motherboard? Same deal there... I have no idea.
Network needs to support ethernet/Lan.... Broadband.
DVD Burner, DVD Player, Cd Burner, and obviously CD Player. Floppy im not too fussed about, Not quite sure if the case will allow it. I do need a floppy drive but I think I have an external one floating around somewhere. So that not a big deal to worry about.

I also will be using a scanner and WEBCAM and a dvd camcorder thats a mass usb storage device pretty much on a regular basis consisting of amature vid editing and such, Dont know if that has to do with much but im just thinking of the power and usage needed to run all these things, Probably not all at once tho lol.
