Solve : What internal DVD drive can i buy to read DVD-RAM discs??

Answer»

When i was a child home movies where recorded on a DVD PANISONIC DRIVE.

Panasonic NV-VP31 DVD Player / VCR / VHS Combo

To be exact , now ive tried these discs on every drive imaginable and they still wont read. Do i need to buy the exact drive used to RECORD from VHS to DVD , or can i purchase a more modern internal dvd drive for my computer just to read them.

If you could go here : http://www.ebuyer.com/ and have a look for me i WOULD appreciate it so much.

Any Sata drive would do as long as it will read the DVD RAM encoded discs.

Its a dam pain this , there is the exact drive at the moment on ebay that my dad used when i was a kid to convert the VHS videos to dvd , but because hes used a ram drive im not sure whether this approach will work. The CD freaks are now part of myce. The link below will explain.

It is an on-line community for consumer electronics. They understand the DVD compatibility issue very well and they can explain to you why the DVD RAM discs can not be use on the NEWER DVD players. Put the question on that site.
