Solve : What motherboard would be a proper swap?? |
|
Answer» I bought the computer about 3-4 YEARS back and the MOTHERBOARD recently died. Can anyone suggest a proper swap? I'm hoping I don't need more than just the motherboard. It's been running the PC for 3-4 years with no issue. I posted on other sites also and the majority said it could be the motherboard. Turned on at one point and didn't display anything on the monitor....shuts off randomly now isn't even turning on. The PSU that's there is brand new also as in installed it 2 days ago. So the cheap 'n' cheerful PSU is the latest change? If your problems started after changing it then return the PSU immediately. At the very least I would recommend that you tested with a known good power supply. It helps to look in the CH database. Basic computer troubleshooting Quote ... commonly asked computer questions and answers and basic troubleshooting ...Try this MB out (since nobody wants to answer your question): ASRock A88M-G/3.1 FM2+ / FM2 A88X (Bolton D4) Micro ATX Motherboard $62.98 ($60.99 +$1.99 Shipping) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157689 Also ditch that crappy PS...lolWonderful move suggesting a MBoard...then stating what evreyone else said... It's likely the PSU...not the board.I necroed this post just to say: thank you patio... (I GAVE him the answer he wanted since he did not take the PSU advice..) I've noticed that all the forums seem to be going downhill these days. Good luck moderating, I wouldn't want to do it.. |
