Answer» I have had my computer for almost 18 months and the CD Drive has suddenly stopped loading games properly (all except Sims2). The disk speeds up, but REPEATEDLY slows and stops the game loading, and if the game does LOAD, it repeadly freezes and refuses to respond, thereby freezing up my whole computer. This is extremely frustrating as it takes some games upto 30 mins to load. i have tried CLEANING it using CD Lens cleaners, but they have no effect. is it time to get a new Cd Drive? Cheers NantithusProbably yes, and they are relatively cheap. If you WANT to see if that is the culprit borrow a drive for a bit from another computer.
