Answer» My son, who's really good with computers, helped me build a new computer. We bought a case with a power supply, a new mother board, and imported the processor, the RAM, and the Hard drives from the old computer. All was WELL until I shut it down and unplugged it because it was lightening. When I turned it back on, I GOT this weird screen:
"main processor" and lists details about the processor blank line blank line blank line
at the bottom of the page it says: "Press F8 to enable system configuration" "Press F9 to select Booting Device" "Press DEL to enter setup"
nothing happens when I press any of these. We unplugged and replugged all the connections on the board. When we turned it back on It was fine again. I left it on overnight, and when I got up in the morning, we were back to square one. He has the same case and board, but used a different power supply. His computer runs fine. We TRIED USING a brand new power supply (the one that came with his case), but it didn't help. We're stumped. Anyone have any ideas?
Start off by dis connecting >leaving the cpu>heat sink mounted securily to the cpu> heatsink fan connected to the board> video connected to the monitor>1 stick of ram> keyboard.Power the pc on to SEE if you get a display. Try going into bios.On a new Motherboard you need to verify that the jumpers are set properly. Pay attention to the CMOS battery. Even a new Motherboard could have a bad one. Or the jumper for the battery was not set to its proper state.
Now if the documentation does not provide a clear answer to the problem, consider asking the vendor for a return of merchandise allowance.just a thought is your keyboard and mouse usb .. sometimes usb fails to work as bios doesn't support usb....
