Solve : What to do if....?

Answer»

I wanted to install a Hard Drive from a past computer onto the one im using. But it is infected with viruses, and has another OS on it.Any suggestions?Hook it up as a SLAVE drive in a known working machine and run all your PROTECTION apps...

AVG FREE
Spybot
AdAware
AVG Anti-Spyware
Stinger
CCleaner

What OS is on this drive ? ?

You may be better off with a complete format and clean install...Try installing this other hard disk as a slave to your new pc. Once you've installed it as a slave make sure it is recognized by your bios set up. If you've done this, and your pc detects or recognizes it as a slave hard disk, then run your anti-virus to this slave hard disk. Once it's clean you may use it as good one. Better, if you don't have any valuable data on this infested virus hard disk, might as well have it reformated first using dos or your windows os and afterwhich install it as a slave drive for your data.Better YET, if the drive is still hooked up to a computer and you can boot it, it might be best to clean or reformat it before slaving it.Quote from: superman777 on June 03, 2007, 11:00:56 PM
