Answer» I jsut looked at my computer and it LOOKS really dirty. I haven't checked the inside yet but the fans and PSU look dusty. Whats the best WAY of cleaning the out side and the inside??A can of compressed air available at any computer store works well...Q-Tips and rubbing alcohol as well for the stubborn stuff. Remember to remove all power sources whenever working inside the case and take anti-static precautions....
For the outside i use Windex and lint-free cloths. Thanks do you recommend just setting it on a kitchen wood table?Sure.A hard, flat, elevated surface would probably be more convenient for you. I would also suggest wearing a face mask, which can be purchased at any hardware store and many general department STORES. The first time I cleaned out my computer, I was hacking up phlem and black stuff for a week. No joke.
And do not use a vacuum cleaner!Yeah I AGREE I just cleaned mine out and I swear I sucked in a Dustball..Uhh Nasty.. || Stealth || ........ Just a tip when blowing the dust off the fan (s) ........ use something non-metalic to stop the fan blades from spinning when the compressed air is directed at it ....... A bamboo or plastic CHOPSTICK works very well. Also be sure and make sure the heat sink is cleaned well to remove any accumulated dust.
