Well I'm currently using a CRT MONITORS for one of me secondary desktops and I want to upgrade to an LCD. I bought my previous LCD monitor from TigerDirect.com and I also use NewEgg.com to buy other hardware. I as wondering if any CH members had any other good places to buy hardware from?i use neweggAlmost exclusively NEWEGG. Ironman,My personal choice is Fry's (if you are in the U.S.). They have both bricks and mortar and online.Even with online sometimes the shipping costs are offset by the no tax consequences.truenorthIronman, with newegg and tigerdirect, you've got two very good places to buy from. So, I wouldn't worry about finding other sources. I've used both newegg and tigerdirect, newegg more than tigerdirect, but I like both.

Other than those two for online buying, I once bought a flash drive from buy.com. Buy.com has a wide selection of computer hardware. And then, I bought a digital camera memory card reader for myself and my mother on amazon.com.

Of course, you could also shop the local retail stores, such as Wal-mart, Staples, etc. I bought my Compaq notebook PC at Staples.

Oh, and, I've bought memory online from crucial.com and kingston.com.Online i use newegg and Micro Center...
Brick and mortar i BEAT up the local Best Buy's Staples and the soon defunct Circuit City for their deal merchandise.
In short there is no one answer.
It's best to decide on budget first; specific components and then price value and Return Policies...I checked out Buy.com and obviously they don't have a comparable inventory to Newegg or TigerDirect because they offer other products than computer products, but i did find a good deal for a 17" LCD under 100 dollars, and the part that impressed me was that most products shipping costs are free! UNLIKE Newegg and definitely TigerDirect who have high shipping costs. And I'm pretty sure they didn't just add the shipping cost to the price already because it comparable to Newegg and TigerDirect. I still have to enquire about theri return polices though, but overall it seems like a good place. newegg doesnt have that high od shipping costs EITHER but tirgerdirect! very EXPENSIVE on shipping. If something on td is cheaper i still buy on newegg cause their shipping offsets the savings. TD has been investigated by the better burery of bisnuess or soemthing like that
