I once heard that a 1.6 AMD was typically equal to a 3.2 INTEL, is that true? I'm trying to build a new machine here, and I was going to go with a 3.2 GHz Celeron D. Quote It would be a very wise decision to spend the extra money and buy an E6300 for 175$.Seconded However, if you really can't/don't want to, an AMD SEMPRON 3200+ or above will GIVE you about the same/better performance than the Intel Celeron D An AMD Athlon 64/X2 will give you even better performance However, as Track said, an E6300 will beat all of these but the top-end ones for cheaperA Celeron D does not have equivalent with a current AMD. The AMD's are all better than that.A sempron 64 3200+ will be (from what i hear) about twice the speed of a celeron D 3.2GHz.If u cannot afford a 175$ CPU, TRY going for an Athlon 64 or Pentium 4, not a Sempron or Celeron. What MBoard have you DECIDED on ? ? |
