Solve : will computers ever take over earth??

Answer»

pof courseanybody who thinks "computers are going to TAKE over the earth" has watched far to many movies and not enough hardware manuals to form an OBJECTIVE opinion on the subject.

they took my job,..Only if we build 'em in such a way as to give away our CONTROL... Quote from: vietvet52 on January 13, 2009, 10:54:23 PM

they took my job

ahh, that may be true, but in order to take over the world, they would need to take over the jobs of politicians. Sadly, that won't work, since computers are the complete OPPOSITE of politicians. you ask'em to do something, they do it. And they do it efficiently. AND you don't have to pay them to sit in a big room together and talk about the weather. Quote from: Aegis on January 14, 2009, 12:01:13 AM

Agreed.
Without some colossal human stupidity, there's no way computers, or any electronic devices could "take over earth". Quote

You don't watch the NEWS then? Humans are stupid by their nature.

I can't imagine a politician who doesn't use a telephone/mobile phone/the internet/a microwave/a wristwatch/the list is almost endless to what has a 'computer' in it. which ones controls the other?

There are already more computers than people on earth so in that sense they've won.
