Solve : windows 98 bootup?

1.	Solve : windows 98 bootup?
Answer» When I turn on computer it boots to searching for primary master&won't do anything more.In the BIOS the pimary master shows none.Can"t get a DOS prompt.Does this mean the hard drive is out? Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this further? Please helpIf the hard drive does not show up in the BIOS it is either not jumpered or attached CORRECTLY OR it is shot. Is this a new drive for this machine? What happened to this poor computer before this POINT?
