Answer» When ever i start my PC with win 7 (dual boot) i am getting error like "Windows has detected a hard disk problem" and when i start PC with XP i am not facing this error and everything is working fine and this started today morning when i installed a game.... Below is the error that i encounter.... As far as Malware goes, after doing some researching, this dialog appears to be legit. It appears when the S.M.A.R.T (Smart Monitoring and Analysis Tool) built into the drive DETECTS an error that points to the drive beginning to fail. If you just want to check the S.M.A.R.T status of the drive download Speedfan http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php The download link is the blue writing in the second paragraph "The latest version is SpeedFan 4.46." Start Speedfan and go to the S.M.A.R.T tab, then select your HDD from the drop down list. Click "Perform an in-depth online analysis of this hard disk" You will be taken to a page which will tell you if your hard drive really is sick or not. Post back with any warning messages it GIVES you. Quote from: Kurtiskain on June 17, 2012, 08:41:12 PM As far as Malware goes, after doing some researching, this dialog appears to be legit.
