Solve : Windows not starting?

Answer»

In a hurry and not paying attention I installed a graphics card before INSTALLING driver now I cant get windows to start up . I tried in safe mode and at last know setting and nothing . HELP !!!!Remove the card PHYSICALLY and re-start...
Installing a piece of HARDWARE should not prevent Windows from starting...

Any issues prior to this ? ?After realizing why there wasnt a picture I removed the graphics card and connected the monitor back to original place and thats when start up screen was there . Everytime I try to start windows it will run Windows start up screen and after a few seconds it starts all over again.any modern card would boot even in safe mode
because safe mode uses very old VGA
640x480x4bpp
so unless your new card is an EGA
i'd say somethings wrong
can you try a difrent slot?
reseat the card
i just relised soemthing : you dont think you disabled onboard video in bioscant use different slot , its an AGP.And by the way, you're supposed to install the card before installing the driverWell thats what I did and there was no picture on monitorturn off onboard video on bios
ok , I'll try thatQuote from: patio on August 17, 2009, 11:22:20 AM

No issues COME to mind , I just replaced cd rom / dvd rw drive and doubled the pc's memory.can you see bios in your new video board?
if you can then the bios is set correctly, just boot into safe mode change the driver and your all set
otherwise ether a jumper or bios setting is wrongQuote from: PC dummy on August 17, 2009, 11:42:57 AM

Yes, I know. I was just saying that you did it right.Quote
and doubled the pc's memory.

This may be the root of your booting issues...
Is it the proper memory?
Correct speed ? ?

Try reverting back to the old memory config and i bet it will boot properly.
Then visit crucial.com and run the online scan to DETERMINE what and how much memory your system wants...
