Solve : Winmodems & Dos Programs? |
|
Answer» We had to MOVE our business PROGRAMS to a Win98 computer. Our 2 main programs are dos-based and have run on Win95 just fine for the past 8 years. One of the programs has to use the modem to call a processor. In the Win95 computer this worked fine, but now in the Win98 computer am having problem with the dos program recognizing the internal modem which is on Com3 and is a USR 56k Winmodem. I normally run the programs through the Dos Shell and recently tried RESTARTING in MS-Dos mode, but the modem won't work in either case. Thought of moving old modem in Win95 computer to Win98 tower, but old modem requires an ISA slot. Have tried many DIFFERENT DIAL strings for the Winmodem but no luck. |
